Doosan Mobility Innovation
About the project:
In the 'Public Safety' category, Doosan Mobility Innovation take the win with their hydrogen drone system which has helped massively speed up the process of finding missing people out at sea. The drones can monitor a radio of up to 35 km within an hour, and can transmit the video being filmed by the drone to the control centre in real time, immediately informing the first responders the status and location of the missing person. In addition, it can carry out the mission of delivering rescue items such as tubes, so it plays a role in securing the golden hour of the victims before dispatch of the rescue team.

What Airwards Judges said:
A clever combination of technologies to deliver a clear benefit to maritime search and rescue operations. This is an exceptional project that introduces green, environmentally positive technology, demonstrating the use of hydrogen fuel as an alternative with clean energy and longer flight times. Extended duration flight opens up improved capabilities, which immediately helps most missions, especially SAR. This will undoubtedly pave the way for other innovation in the types of fuels, length of flights and lifesaving applications.
