About the project:
Overcoming complex cold-chain requirements, the winner of our Emergency Response and SAR category have distributed over 650k COVID-19 vaccine doses across Ghana. Zipline’s automated, on-demand logistics system enabled Ghana to successfully distribute their doses rapidly and safely, avoiding waste and efficiently reaching healthcare facilities nationwide. And not only is the initiative effective, but it is also cost-efficient: an average cost of $0.08 per vaccine dose compared to a baseline cost of $0.45 per dose, more than an 82% cost reduction.
