Following the inaugural awards in 20/21, and our second year 21/22 we’re taking a brief break and will be back with a single-minded goal to shout louder than ever about positive drone use cases from around the world!
“Life’s Better With Drones”
Perhaps you were involved in our first year and loved it. Maybe you kept an eye on our activities but weren’t in a position to enter. Or could it be that you haven’t yet heard about Airwards at all… Whatever your situation, come and join us for Year 3!
In our inaugural year we received over 10,000 votes (yeah, we know, we were just as surprised as you probably are now reading that, go back and read it once more) ten … thousand … votes?! Just wow! Clearly showing there is a huge drone community and appetite for people being identified, recognised and championed for their work.
We’re the first global awards platform to recognise and champion positive use cases in the drone industry, across a multitude of sectors. We're aiming to do this by finding innovative, responsible and real-world projects that are having a positive impact in their field and on the lives of people around the world.
This year we hope to implement huge amounts of feedback from those who nominated, those shortlisted and the winners to keep improving our awards. This means there is a new entry system that’s streamlined and simplified, and there are some additional events to look out for. 👀

What is and who are Airwards People’s Choice? 🤔
We celebrate diversity, evolution and education and aim to inspire a greater understanding of drone use cases around the world. We champion responsible and safe drone use and advocate for use cases in which drones are used as a tool for positive work with tangible outcomes, as well as those that display what a drone for good is capable of across a multitude of different environments.
This group of categories encourages drone fans across the world to vote for who they believe is a shining example in the industry, with a look at the stories, driving forces and intentions behind their incredible work. It is an award to recognise not only commercial success, but also the essence of the story behind the success.
Nominees will have truly encapsulated the Airwards’ ethos of high-quality work and promoting positive and safe drone use. They will also have exhibited the hard work, determination and resilience required to be successful in their field. We seek outstanding individual applicants based on merit that represents the diverse markets that drones service worldwide.

Disclosure / Transparency
One of the major aspects that makes Airwards unique, both as a centralised platform and recognition programme in the drone industry and beyond, is our transparency. This transparency includes disclosing key processes as well as our openness of our system. This means those nominating* and those nominated* know precisely what is required, how we work and more. 🔍

Our transparency pledge says that:
Airwards do not nominate anyone or take part in any voting or selection. 🗳️
Spam emails and bot votes will be removed and not included in the voting. 🚫
Interference of systems will void your nomination (so please control your network). 🙅
Just because you're nominated doesn’t mean you are automatically shortlisted, we contact every potential shortlist candidate and unless you accept we won’t force you to be put through. 📧
Airwards Judges, Corporate Partners, Strategic Partners are able to vote just like everyone else but do not have any sway or say in preference of who gets nominated or who gets shortlisted. Only the people have the power! ⚡
We refrain from charging fees for the first three years of Airwards. You can however help support the work of Airwards by donating and/or making a voluntary contribution for your nomination. This is vital to keep Airwards running and fulfil our mission in raising awareness of positive drone use cases and demonstrating how Life’s Better With Drones.
