Nomination Process
The Process 💡
Airwards takes pride in identifying, recognising and championing a diverse range of use cases which reflect our ethos, brand values and criteria.
Welcome to the nitty gritty of it all: what you need to know and actually prepare for both nominating and if you’ve been nominated.
Airwards does not select the winners or influence the public vote in any way. We provide a platform for those shortlisted nominees to share details on the inspirational stories behind themselves and their work. We invite you to nominate and help us identify, recognise and champion the incredible work being done by individuals and companies around the world who are leading the way for all of us!
We’ve made significant amends to our Year 2 (21/22) nomination process, taking on board all feedback from judges, entrants, advisors as well as our own internal analysis. See our TIMELINE for a topline view of dates. More details are provided to those who NOMINATE. You can find more information in our CATEGORIES section.
How do I nominate?
So, you’ve got either a company or individual who you’d like to recognise with a nomination.
Whether emerging or established: Are they a role model / inspirational? Are they a shining example in the industry for their incredible drone work? Do they approach their vocation with innovation in their eyes, responsibility in their hearts and a vision to make a real-world impact? They do! Well look at that, you’ve come to the right place!
When it comes to nominating, our form gives you the best opportunity to present information about why the nominee inspires you which, in turn, gives them the most elevated profile possible (see what we did there…). One of the major components about Airwards Year 3 (23/24) is that we are providing far more information about each nominee and time for those voting to really consider each one within each category.
Before the deadline of 09 Mar 2024
—> Head to our dedicated page, submit the information
Between 06 Apr - 06 May 2024
—> Accepted nominees are shortlisted and can be voted on
Step 1 | Submit Info.
You are required to nominate here where you will be taken to a form to capture and validate information about your nominee. Don’t forget you can nominate as many times as you like, just not yourself!
Step 2 | Sit back and wait
Once we have everyone’s information we contact all those nominated getting their permission if they want to be included. We also narrow the list down so we have a maximum of 10 individuals / companies on which to vote.
Step 3 | Vote Vote Vote
Now comes the crucial part. Vote for all the nominees here who are the most inspirational, innovative, responsible, impactful, collaborative and more. You will be signed up to our mailing list if you vote.
What if I am nominated?
Well aren’t you lucky! You have a secret supporter (someone you know - or maybe not) willing to take the time and effort to put your name forward and who wants your work recognised as being something truly inspirational!
What next you say? Well simple, when nominations close, we’ll whirl out some of our magic internally and announce our shortlist to open up voting.
What if you don’t win? Well, this is tough all round isn’t it. As this is a public vote, Airwards isn’t involved in the decision making and therefore can’t provide feedback. All we can do is wish you all the best and thank you greatly for being involved. Be proud of being nominated in the first place (as regardless it means you’ve inspired someone with your work). If you have any questions at any time, please email us.
Nominations open 01 Dec 23, and close 09 Mar 24 - and again, they’re free!
We can always improve and do better, right? As individuals, as businesses, as a society - and particularly as an awards programme with exemplary standards, after its debut year! The team at Airwards has been busy doing just that. We’ve simplified the process this year, so you should find this quicker to do than last year. We’ve also improved it so that our shortlist has more information about why those nominated were and their work.
Nominations Open + Close
Shorter than ordering a coffee / repeatedly hitting your snooze button / cooking an egg / blending a smoothie / picking up after your dog / taking out the trash … you get the idea by now!
AW Logging, Review Nominee Info
Airwards quality checks and validating all nominations, reviewing the information provided and all questions are answered correctly. We are not marking; instead allowing all nominations to be put forward on an equal playing field. We email all those nominated to confirm information and because we aware not all those nominated might actually want to be put forward; the power is in your hands on whether you’d like to proceed.
Shortlist Vote
We’re getting into the juicer part, gone through the administrative steps, ensured that all those nominated want to be put forward in our shortlist and finally we come to the voting! You (the voter) now get the chance to choose who, out of our shortlisted candidates, you think embodies the Airwards ethos and who deserves to win their category the most. Each person voting gets 1 vote per category.
Winners’ Week
In a nutshell, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for! The series of digital announcements revealing the Airwards winners in each of the categories.
And we thought, why does it have to be just one moment? Let’s give every winner their own well-deserved moment to shine by spreading the announcements over a full week, with different winners revealed throughout each of the five days, via our social media platforms and through video content. For Y3+Y4, AWW will be done digitally. For Y5 and wherever we can, we will look to host physical IRL events.
